The end of the year always brings about reflecting on our past – the choices we’ve made, the success we’ve had, the milestones. For some reason being surrounded by Christmas lights always makes me want to sit in the peace and quiet and just enjoy the present moment. But of course I always end up taking a trip down memory lane and thinking about all the things that have happened this year.

I have really enjoyed growing my business the last few years here in Grand Blanc, MI. I have met wonderful people, who have introduced me to more wonderful people. Being a photographer here in Michigan allows me to network with others and feel like I am building connections, which is one of the aspects in my life that has made me feel successful. Let’s not forget that success is relative, isn’t is? My success may not look like yours – and that’s ok. We are all different and if it did look the same our lives would be very mundane.

My last few years as a photographer have been focused on growing the wedding photography side of my business, and I was so happy that I did that and got to experience that part of the world. However, after giving it a lot of thought and consideration, I have decided to step back from weddings in 2023. I spent so much of my time the last three summers working with beautiful brides and enjoying the hustle and bustle of the industry. But, I am past that part of my life now and as I get older, I realize the things that I enjoy most are connecting with other parents, families, and business owners.

My heart is calling me into new territory – which is really scary but invigorating at the same time. Branding photography in Michigan is something that has been on my heart for the last year. I am so excited to say that I am planning some amazing things in 2023 – stay tuned because I can’t wait to share them with you in the upcoming year! 🙂
